 (Sweden)The artist and singer Prince has launched an attack on the facility containing the servers of the BitTorrent indexing web site Pirate Bay. Prince himself is leading the fleet of twenty ships and over four hundred troops. The venture has financial backing from the MPAA and the RIAA and other anti-Pirate Bay groups such as Metallica and Web Sheriff.
The ground attack on the Swedish server facility began at first light this morning after an all night bombardment. Prince and his troops stormed the facility under the constant covering fire of the accompanying fleet. The technicians running the server facility met the attack and there has been several hours of heavy fighting. At this hour the two forces are dead locked and the Pirate Bay servers are still intact. The attackers have withdrawn to a perimeter and are apparently preparing for a siege.
"We are not going to give into these bullying tactics." Says Haylan Bjorkman the facility manager. "We have 400 pizzas and over 1000 cans of Red Bull. There ain't no way those goons are getting in here." Bjorkman went on to say that the facility has High speed satellite hook ups as well and onsite power generation and fuel to last a month. The technicians had apparently learned the attack in time to prepare.
Pirate Bay Founders, Peter Sunde, Fredrik Neij, and Gottfrid Svartholm are reportedly mobilizing reinforcements and a relief mission could reach the besieged server facility in a week to ten days.
Bjorkman and the rest of the storm trooper clad technicians are on their own until reinforcements arrive as NATO forces and the Swedish military have said that they will not be interfering in a 'business dispute'. With two such resolute parities there is little hope that this international crisis will be ending any time soon.
