Beatles Spurn iTunes, Publish Music Exclusively on Allofmp3.com
by Kamal El-Din
Beatles record company Apple Core has decided to publish the entire Beatles back catalog on Russian mp3 site Allofmp3.com. The move by Apple Core records comes as a huge surprise to the industry as Apple Core recently inked a deal with Apple Computer ending the decades long feud between them. Many had believed the deal would pave the way for iTunes to have exclusive access to the Beatles back catalog.
The record industry has greeted the news of the agreement between Apple Core and Allofmp3.com with shock and surprise. Allofmp3.com has long been viewed by the major record companies as an outlaw provider of copyrighted music files. Apple Core's choice of them as the exclusive distributor of Beatles' music is sending shock waves across the entire music industry.
"It's like the President's daughter announcing she will marry Osama Bin Laden." Says RIAA lawyer Hugh Billings. "Allofmp3.com is an outlaw organization with links to organized crime and possible terrorist groups. More importantly, Allofmp3.com doesn't pay any royalties to RIAA members for the use of their copyright materials. Giving Allofmp3.com control of the must lucrative music franchise in history is a mistake, a very big mistake."
Our sources indicate that RIAA lawyers have been dispatched to Apple Core offices to examine the legality of the deal and apply 'pressure' on Apple Core executives to rethink their decision to go with Allofmp3.com.
Apple Computer refused to comment on the announcement.
"...links to organized crime and possible terrorist groups. More importantly, Allofmp3.com doesn't pay any royalties to RIAA members..."
Gotta love that, *MORE IMPORTANTLY*. Somehow terrorist groups are less of a problem than a few copyright problems.
AllOfMP3 have always been within Russian law and no links to crime have been exposed.
To be perfectly honest, it's more likely that the RIAA are in with organised crime!

Isn't strange that we hear of AllOfMP3 being involved with organized crime and terrorists from a lawyer representing an outfit of organized crime. If Mr. Billings is defending a company that sues computerless Grandma's and dead people, well, I feel much better now. The RIAA should drop the last "A" as it has proven to be an American disgrace. Instead it should use the letter "C" for Cartel. Their mindset is back in the days of vinyl and 8 track tapes. They need to realize the world of digital and that we are now dealing with global economics. With respect to AllOfMP3, someone needs to embrace the entity it has developed instead of bash it to death. I have found music in their library that I believed was gone for good plus I can select a preferred format and bitrate. The infrastructure they've created surpasses any other music download site to date. If the RIAA used their present way of thinking 30 years ago, we would not know of them today. I think record labels need to wake up and realize the RIAC... I mean RIAA is representing themselves and do not have artist best interest at heart.

This is an old story but if true I would prefer to use ALLOFMP3 as a genuine alternative to that motley crew of monopolizing, controlling, lying, untrustworthy, self publsizing bunch of has been record label monoliths. The likes of Warner, Universal, EMI, BMG, Sony and many others have stitched us, the artists and the rest of the industry up for too long now. Good riddance.
